The southpaw joined the San Diego Padres after graduation and played one year in the organization. Bacon, RIT’s only baseball All-American, compiled a 13-9 record in four seasons. Bacon enjoyed a tremendous senior year, finishing with a 6-2 mark, while ranked 15th in the NCAA in earned run average (1.27) and strikeouts (13.5 average). That same season, Bacon recorded 17 strikeouts in one contest, which included retiring 10 straight batters by the K. The retailing major was also named MVP his junior and senior campaigns. Bacon is a native of Canandaigua, N.Y.
