Shawn Wilkins was a two-sport standout at RIT, playing lacrosse and hockey. In lacrosse, the midfielder helped the Tigers to the semifinals in the 1999 NCAA Tournament and quarterfinals in 2000. On the ice, he was a key member of three NCAA Division III Tournament teams, including the 2001 squad that advanced to the championship game. He also holds the record for fastest goal scored in 0:06 seconds. Equally important, Wilkins later joined the RIT lacrosse coaching staff and has completed 10 seasons with the Tigers, compiling a remarkable 188-23 record, with five trips to the National Semifinals. As a lacrosse player, the native of Burlington, Ontario Canada was an All-Empire 8 selection in 2001 and was chosen All-Super Six in 1998 and 1999. He was the Super-Six Rookie of the Year in 1998. Wilkins is one of 14 players in RIT lacrosse history to score 100 career goals (104 in 56 games). Primarily a hockey defenseman, Wilkins was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team in 2000.
