Hall of Fame
A native of Williamson, N.Y., now living in Colchester, Vt., Decker is one of RIT’s all-time volleyball greats. From 1998-2001 she was one of the most dominant outside hitters in the state, helping the Tigers to NCAA Tournament appearances in 1998 and 1999. She was named RIT Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 2001.
She was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Northeast Region selection in 1999 and 2000 and was a member of the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) All-Tournament Team in 2000. Decker earned All-Empire 8 honors in 2000 and 2001 as well. She served as co-captain in 2001.
A biology major at RIT, Decker set several school records, including most kills in a season (730), best kill average in a season (5.14) and best career kill average (4.32). She also has records for matches with double-digit kills in a season (36), matches with 20-plus kills in a season (15) and matches with 20-plus kills in a career (35). During her tenure, RIT posted a 117-44 record. She was Most Valuable Player in six tournaments and also named to 14 All-Tournament Teams.
Today she is a physical therapist in Burlington, Vt. and married to 2002 RIT alumnus Noah Decker.
