Paul Clune came to RIT after two successful years at Broome Community College. He worked his way into a starting spot with the Tigers and enjoyed two highly productive seasons. Clune earned Chase Scholarship Tournament MVP honors in helping RIT to the title in 1982-83. In his two seasons, Paul scored in double figures 23 times. Clune was named first team All-Empire Athletic Association and was runner-up for Player of the Year honors, while garnering second team All-Greater Rochester honors in 1982-83. Clune, a tri-captain, averaged 10.8 points per game in two seasons. Additionally, he was the first recipient of the Steven King Award, named in memory of the former RIT player, which stresses sportsmanship and dedication.
