A native of Harwinton, CT, Jared DeMichiel came to the forefront his senior season as the RIT goaltender. On the strength of his outstanding play in net, RIT stunned the college hockey scene by advancing to the NCAA Division I Frozen Four, toppling #2 Denver and #12 New Hampshire. In 2010, Jared set the school Division I record with 920 saves. He also topped the mark with 27 wins that magical year. He played from 2006 to 2010, appearing in 66 games with a 2.48 goals-against average and .909 save percentage. Overall, he posted 41 wins with seven shutouts. In 2009-10, Jared won the Louis W. Spiotti Jr. Coaches Award, for exemplifying RIT hockey. That same year he was named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Year. Under Head Coach Wayne Wilson, the Tigers were 91-48-10 with three regular season AHA titles and the championship in 2009-10.
