Douglas D. Drake has the distinction of becoming the first All-American in RIT wrestling history. Drake grappled at 123 and 130 pounds, culminating with a third-place finish in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Championships in 1963. A business administration major at RIT, Drake compiled a 21-9-0 record through three seasons and missed one campaign due to injury. Considered a mainstay of the mat squad, Drake founded the RIT Wrestling Boosters Club and served as president of the RIT Lettermen's Club.
