Mark Carson was a dominant force on the basketball court. As a senior in 2008-09, he earned NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches), d3hoops.com and Basketball Times third-team All-American honors. In addition, Carson was named to both the NABC and d3hoops.com East Region first teams, earned All-Empire 8 first team honors and was the Most Valuable Player of the Empire 8 Tournament. The Voorheesville, N.Y., native led the Tigers to the 2009 Empire 8 Championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament. Carson averaged 19.4 points and led Division III with 14.1 rebounds per game in 2008-09. In four seasons, Carson, a packaging science major played in 104 games, tallying 1,073 points (10.3 average) ranking him 16th on the RIT career-scoring list. His 822 career rebounds and .598 field goal percentage were both second best at the university.Â
