GLASSBORO, NJ – The RIT men's cross country team placed second out of 14 teams at the Bill Fritz Invitational hosted by Rowan University on Saturday afternoon. RIT junior
Otto Kingstedt (Stockholm, Sweden/Cybergymnasiet) was the individual race winner.
The Tigers had a team score of 52 points, finishing just behind the hosts, who had 27. Rowan is ranked fourth in the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region rankings. Stevens Institute of Technology was third with 96 points, as the 14 teams battled unseasonably warm weather.
RIT had five of the top-18 finishers. Kingstedt took the lead early on and pulled away steadily to crush the field of 161 runners, finishing 45 seconds ahead of Kevin Veltre of Rowan University in a snappy time of 25:33.33 over the 8,000-meter course.
James Bailey (Danvers, MA/Danvers), who won RIT's season-opening Highlander Invitational on Sept. 1, placed seventh overall on Saturday, recording a time of 27:36.13. Sophomore
Reid Kovacs (Palo Alto, CA/Henry M. Gunn) was RIT's third fastest finisher, placing 13th in 27:50.12.

Andrew Chabot (Campton, NH/Plymouth Regional) and freshman
Herlandt Lino (New Milford, CT/New Milford) finished 17th and 18th overall to score points for the Tigers. Chabot crossed the finish line in a time of 27:53.21, while Lino was right behind in 27:53.93.

Neil Kolhatkar (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) (37th – 28:51.37),
Nate Butler (Warren, OH/Lakeview) (40th – 28:59.17),
Joey Hendron (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) (41st – 29:05.95),
Tommy Papish (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) (45th – 29:26.25) and
Ben Beaudry () (50th – 29:35.58) rounded out finishers in the top-50.
RIT is right back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Harry Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
