BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore
Luca Strangis finished fifth out of 152 runners to lead the RIT men's cross country team to a second-place finish out of 10 teams at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic at Sweden Town Park, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Strangis finished in a time of 16:12.0, just ahead of junior Spencer Buff in sixth (16:17.7).
- First-year Aaron Meyer finished eighth with a time of 16:24.6.
- Sophomore Matthew Monnes crossed the line 14th in 16:40.7.
- Senior Zachary Sowers rounded out the Tigers' scoring five, placing 15th in 16:42.0.
- Senior Samuel Adamson placed 16th (16:43.2) ahead of first-year Benjamin Arbegast in 21st (16:49.9) to complete the top-seven.
- The Brockport Alumni won the meet with 33 points, followed by RIT (48), Brockport (67), Buffalo State (124) and Rochester (132) in the top-five.

RIT returns to action Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by Rochester at Genesee Valley Park.
