ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team beat Alfred University 69-49 in their regular season home finale on Tuesday evening. The win improves RIT to 12-11 overall and 8-6 in the Empire 8. The Tigers have now won four in a row and are 8-1 in their last nine games.
RIT led 32-23 at the half and never looked back, out scoring the Saxons 37-26 in the second half. The Tigers shot 43.1 percent from the floor and were 8-of-20 from behind the arc.
Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) led RIT with 17 points.
Adam Sweet (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) scored 13 points in his final game on the floor of Clark Gymnasium. Fellow senior
Scott Young (Almond, NY/Hornell) had nine points.
Nate Korinchak (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) had six points, six rebounds and seven assists.
RIT closes out the regular season this weekend with a pair of road games. The Tigers play Hartwick College on Friday, February 19 at 8 pm in Oneonta, New York and close out the regular season on Sunday, February 21 at 2 pm at Stevens.
