GENESEO, NY -- The fourth seeded RIT (0-2) men's basketball team failed to hold a halftime lead, losing to sixth seeded College at Brockport (1-3) 54-50 in the first round of the 45th Annual Wendy's College Classic on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers, who led 48-44 late in the second half, were outscored 10-2 over the final 2:50 of regulation by the Golden Eagles.

RIT shot poorly, going 20-for-62 overall and 4-of-21 from behind the arc. The Tigers were just 9-of-29 from the floor in the second half.

Despite poor shooting, RIT held a 48-44 lead with 2:50 remaining on a basket by senior guard Nate Korinchak (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville). He scored on an assist from Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) that gave the Tigers a 48-44 lead.

Brockport's Kyheem Green scored on two straight possessions, tying the score at 48-48 with a layup with 1:19 remaining.

After a RIT timeout, Korinchak found a wide open Brendan Harder (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) down low. Korinchak fired a pass. Harder tried to catch and shoot all in one motion, but the shot came off the rim and into the arms of a Brockport defender.

Green gave the Golden Ealges their first lead since early in the first half with 40 seconds to play with a layup which proved to be the game winner.

Korinchak converted a pair of free throws with 11 seconds remaining to make it a three point game, but Brockport's Derek Klein put the game away with a free throw with nine seconds left in the game.

Harder led RIT with 11 points and 13 rebounds. He was 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and went 1-for-2 from the foul line.

Justin Heisig (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. Terry added nine points and Darryl Anderson (San Diego, CA/Southwest) finished with six points.

RIT, the seven-time winner of the tournament, will compete in the consolation round on Friday, December 4 at Hobart College. The Tigers will face top seeded Roberts Wesleyan College, who were upset by Nazareth, at 6 pm at Bristol Gym.
