MEADVILLE, PA – The RIT men's tennis team competed at the Allegheny Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday saw the team of juniors
Grahith Movva and
Christian Berko pick up a 6-4 win. The team of junior
Max Chang and first year
Luke Weber were 7-6 winners in their doubles match.
In singles, Weber, first year
Alec Turcotte, first year
Gabriel Escobar and junior
Verosh Jayanetti all won. Jayanetti needed three sets, winning 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
In Saturday's doubles, Chang and Weber won their first two matches, 7-5 and, 6-1. First year's
Anthony Lounder and
Ben Walerstein were 7-5 winners.
Saturday, Escobar picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win in his opening match, while Chang was a 6-3, 6-2 winner. Lounder was a 6-3, 6-2 winner andTurcotte was a 7-6, 6-4 winner in his opening singles match.
RIT returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 9) at the St. Lawrence Fall Invitational.
