ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Two members of the RIT men's tennis team were named to the 2026 Liberty League All-Conference team announced Tuesday, May 19.
Sophomore
Yu Tanimoto was named the Player of the Year and earned first team singles honors, while he and sophomore
Alexander Sinclair were first team doubles selections.
Tanimoto recorded a 19-4 record in singles, including a 16-2 mark at first singles. A two-time Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, Tanimoto was second in the league with an .889 winning percentage at first singles and fifth with an .826 winning percentage in all singles competitions.
Tanimoto and Sinclair led the Liberty League with 18 wins and third with a .783 winning percentage. The two-time Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week, the duo led the league with a 15-3 record at first doubles and an .833 winning percentage.
Tanimoto and Sinclair will compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships May 18-26 in Chattanooga, TN. Tanimoto earned the NCAA Region II automatic bid in singles while he and Sinclair earned the Region II automatic bid in doubles.
