Men's Cross Country places ninth at Niagara Regional Championships

GENESEO, N.Y. – RIT senior Aleksei Bingham finished 23rd out of 158 runners to lead the Tigers to ninth place out of 20 teams at the Niagara Regional Championships, hosted by Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum, Saturday.
 
Bingham earned All-Region recognition after completing the eight-kilometer circuit with a 26:02.6 clocking, 35 seconds behind overall winner Ryan Cory from Cortland.
 
Junior Richard Ellsworth placed 38th (26:32.1) followed by senior Kyle Higby in 39th (26:36.1).
 
Freshman Matthew Chaikowsky finished 60th (27:06.9) before sophomore Jacob Fricano closed the RIT scoring five with a 66th-place finish (27:22.3).
 
The host Knights won the race with 28 points, followed by Rochester (122), Hamilton (127), Ithaca (132) and Cortland (167) in the top-five.
