2025 USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC ATHLETES – MEN | WOMEN

ROCHESTER, N.Y.
 – Six members of the RIT men's and women's cross country teams were named All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Thursday.

On the women's side, juniors Kathryn Arbegast and Therese Georgia earned the honor, joined by senior Derick Koen, juniors Jackson Burger and Sebastian Montalvo, and sophomore Brandon Blandino.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.

At the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships, the men's team placed fifth out of 27 teams as Koen and Burger qualified for the national championship race, coming in seventh and 20th place, respectively. Montalvo took 25th with Blandino placing 44th overall.

Arbegast and Georgia led the women's team to a seventh-place finish at the regional meet this past fall, with Arbegast coming in third overall and Georgia crossing the finish line in 14th.  The duo also earned spots in the national championship race.
