ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team will honor local veterans and soldiers killed in action on Saturday, Feb. 8 during their game versus St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m. at Clark Gymnasium.

"The RIT men's basketball team salutes veterans of all wars," said RIT head coach Bob McVean.  "We honor those wounded warriors for their sacrifice to keep our country safe and free."

The Tigers will wear camouflaged shooting shirts to honor those local soldiers who have lost their lives serving in action for our country, and will honor veterans in attendance prior to tip-off.

Volunteers from the Veterans Outreach Center of Rochester will be stationed in the lobby of Clark Gym throughout the game to receive donations. Veterans Outreach Center is an independent community-centered non-profit providing premier supportive service to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families in the greater Rochester area. They serve by helping them to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.
