ROCHESTER, NY -- It was a busy weekend for RIT Athletics last week. Here is a look back to last week and a brief look ahead to another action-packed weekend of events at RIT for the week of Jan. 31, 2017. For more information, check out www.ritathletics.com.

Women's Basketball: (13-7, 6-5 Liberty League)
Last Week:
RIT went 3-0 last week. Tuesday, the Tigers beat William Smith 71-59. Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) led the Tigers with 21 points and seven rebounds. Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) tallied 19 points, while Cori Okada (Fullerton, CA/Troy) added 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Friday, the Tigers defeated Bard 91-45. Ashlynn Palmitesso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) led the Tigers with 22 points, while Lynch tallied 10. RIT wrapped up the week with an 85-61 win over Vassar. Glaz led the Tigers with 20 points, while Lynch chipped in 19 points, Palmitesso 15 points, and Okada, 14. Okada also broke the single-game record with 12 asissts. Palmitesso scored her 1,000th point with 5:19 to play in the fourth to become the seventh player in program history to reach the milestone.

Honors and Recognition:
Ashlynn Palmitesso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) – Liberty League Honor Roll

This Week: RIT, who sits sixth in the Liberty League to start the week, hosts a pair of Liberty League contests. Friday, the Tigers host Clarkson University at 6 p.m. The Tigers will host Middle School girls from the Rochester City School District as part of National Women in Sports Day on Friday. The Tigers will also have University President, Dr. Bill Destler, on the bench as a guest assistant coach. St. Lawrence visits Clark Gym on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

2/3       vs. Clarkson – 6 p.m.
2/4       vs. St. Lawrence – 2 p.m.

Men's Basketball: (12-8, 6-5 Liberty League)
Last Week:
 RIT went 3-0 last week. Behind a season-high 38 points from AJ Horde (Oak Park, MI/University of Detroit Jesuit), the Tigers beat Hobart 90-74 on Tuesday. Jaymee Rosser (Newark, NY/Newark) tallied 11 points, while Wyatt Smith (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) chipped in 10 points off the bench. Friday, Troy Pierre-Louis (Providence, RI/Berkshire School) scored a career-high 20 points in a 64-59 win over Bard. Justin Schneider (Aurora, NY/Southern Cayuga) tallied 14 points, while Horde had seven assists and seven rebounds. Horde, the Liberty League Performer of the Week, scored 31 points on Saturday in an 86-83 win over Vassar. Pierre-Louis added 19 points, while Anthony Lewis (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) scored 13 points off the bench.

This Week: RIT hosts a pair of Liberty League contests. Friday, the Tigers host Clarkson University at 8 p.m., while St. Lawrence visits Clark Gym on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 4 p.m. tip-off. The Tigers will be honoring military veterans on Saturday as part of their Tiger Den event.

Women's Hockey: (6-20-2, 4-8-2 College Hockey America)
Last Week:  RIT went 2-0-0 last week, winning a pair of critical College Hockey America contests over Lindenwood. Friday, Kendall Cornine and Caitlin Wallace each had a goal and an assist, while Taylor Thurston and Reagan Rust dished out three helpers in a 5-0 win over Lindenwood. Jenna de Jonge, this week's CHA Goaltender of the Week, made 26 saves earning the shutout win.  Saturday, de Jonge made 26 saves, earning her second straight shut-out in a 1-0 win over the Lions. Rust scored the lone goal midway through the third period.

This Week: RIT is off this week and returns to action on Feb. 10-11 at Robert Morris.

Men's Hockey: (10-16-1, 10-11-0 Atlantic Hockey Conference)
Last Week: RIT dropped a pair of Atlantic Hockey contests to Bentley last week. Friday, the Falcons scored at 8:41 of the third period in a 3-2 win over RIT. Darren Brady, and Caleb Cameron each scored while Mike Rotolo made 23 saves. Saturday, Abbott Girduckis tallied a goal and an assist, and Gabe Valenzuela handed out two assists in a 6-3 loss. Jordan Peacock and Erik Brown also scored.

This Week: RIT hits the road for a pair of AHC contests at Robert Morris. Both games in Moon Township, Pa. get underway at 7:05 p.m.

Women's Swimming and Diving (8-2):
Last Week:
RIT went 1-0 last week. The Tigers defeated Nazareth 174-123 on Saturday. Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) won a pair of individual events, placing first in the 200-meter freestyle, and the 200-meter backstroke.

This Week: RIT is off until Feb. 15 when the Tigers begin competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships hosted by Ithaca College.
 
Men's Swimming and Diving (6-2-1):
Last Week:
RIT defeated Nazareth College 157-141 on Saturday in the Tigers final dual meet of the season. Austin Hayes (Aurora, OH/Aurora), John O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth), and Steven Paine (York, PA/Dallastown Area) were among the Tigers who won individual events.  Ben Hamilton (Addison, NY/Addison) won the 1-meter diving competition, while Alex Dieroff (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) won the 3-meter event.

Wrestling (6-5):
Last Week:
RIT was defeated 33-13 by No. 19 The College at Brockport in the Tigers lone competition last week. Jake Sepor (Stafford, NY/Pavilion) (141 lbs.), Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne) (174 lbs.), Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) (184 lbs.) and Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/Washingtonville) (285 lbs.) all picked up wins for the Tigers.
 
This Week: RIT competes at the John Reese Duals hosted by Wilkes University on Sunday, Feb. 5. The Tigers will compete against West Virginia Technology, Wilkes and Scranton University, starting at 11 a.m.

Women's Indoor Track and Field:
Last Week: RIT placed sixth overall at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational Meet on Saturday. Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz), the two-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week, placed second in the pole vault, clearing the bar with a leap of 5.12 meters. Marissa Dispenza (Batavia, NY/Batavia) was second in the 400-meters, while Becca Schwan (LeRoy, NY/LeRoy) placed third in the 800-meters.  
 
Honors and Recognition:
Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) – Liberty League Rookie of the Week

This Week: The Tigers will host the Tiger Invitational on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Fieldhouse and Activities Center on the campus of RIT.

This Week's Schedule:
2/3       Tiger Invitational – 4 p.m.

Men's Indoor Track and Field:
Last Week: RIT placed third at the Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational Meet. Senior Austin White (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) won the pole vault with a leap of 4.70 meters. That vault tied White with teammate Ethan Maguire (Penfield, NY/Penfield) for the 14th best in Division III this season. Rob Dalheim (Rochester, NY/Brockport) placed second in the 500-meter dash, while Matthew Lienhard (Allentown, PA/Allentown Catholic) was second in the 60-meter dash.

This Week:  The Tigers will host the Tiger Invitational on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Fieldhouse and Activities Center on the campus of RIT.
