ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's basketball team closed out the 2025-26 season with a 57–55 win over Skidmore, Saturday afternoon. The Tigers trailed 30–24 at halftime before outscoring the Thoroughbreds 33–25 in the second half.
IT HAPPENED
- RIT used an 8–0 run midway through the second half, fueled by back‑to‑back three-pointers from junior guard Brody Brown, to cut the deficit to 44–42.
- Graduate student forward Jackson Otis gave RIT its first lead of the second half, knocking down a three to make it 52–51 with 4:15 remaining.
- Trailing by one point with 3:23 remaining, Jackson Otis buried a three‑pointer from the right corner to give RIT a 55–53 lead.
- The Tigers' defense stepped up late, holding Skidmore to one field goal over the final 3:50.
- Brown hit a driving layup with four seconds left to break a 55–55 tie and deliver the game-winning basket.
GAME NOTES
- Brown led RIT with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc .
- Turner finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, adding three blocks.
- Nelson added 11 rebounds and six points, while junior guard Zac Ditzel chipped in six points, four assists, and two blocks.
- RIT shot 24-of-61 (39.3%) from the field and 5-of-17 (29.4%) from three-point range.
- The Tigers scored 38 points in the paint and converted 16 points off Skidmore's 14 turnovers.
- With the win, RIT finished the season 7–18 overall and 4–14 in Liberty League play.

The 2025–26 season is complete. RIT will return to action in November to start the 2026–27 campaign.
