ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team will honor local veterans and soldiers killed in action on Saturday, Jan. 30 in their game versus Skidmore College at 4 p.m. on the floor of Clark Gymnasium.
"The RIT men's basketball team salutes veterans of all wars," said RIT head coach
Bob McVean. "We honor those wounded warriors for their sacrifice to keep our country safe and free."
The Tigers will wear camouflaged warm-up shirts to honor those local soldiers who have lost their lives serving in action for our country.
The team will honor veterans in attendance as well as take donations for the Veterans Outreach Center of Rochester with a donation on Saturday beginning at 1:30 in the lobby of Clark Gymnasium.
Veterans Outreach Center is an independent community-centered non-profit providing premier supportive service to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families in the greater Rochester area. They serve by helping them to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.
