MENDON, NY - The RIT men's and women's tennis teams suffered tough losses to visiting Rensselaer at the Mendon Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The men (4-8) fell to Rensselaer (14-3) 9-0, while the women (1-6) fell to the Engineers (12-3) by a score of 8-1.

On the men's side, Neville Billimoria played RIT's best match of the day at second singles, suffering a narrow 7-6, 7-5 defeat to Brandon Mazzara.

For the women. Maite Vera Antelo (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) defeated Emily Laurilliard of Rensselaer at second singles, 0-6, 7-6, 10-2. Elizabeth McGrail (Rockford, IL/Guilford) just missed a win at first singles. She won the first set 6-3, but lost the second set 6-1 and the tiebreaker 10-6. McGrail and Vera Antelo played to a close 9-7 loss to Casey Olsen and Christina Ciamarra at first doubles.

Both teams are right back in action on Sunday with a road match at St. Lawrence. The women begin at 10 a.m., while the men start at 1 p.m.
