Box Score SCHENECTADY, NY - Allyson Stats hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and lifting Union (18-14, 3-7 Liberty League) to a dramatic 4-1 win over the RIT softball team (11-23, 3-7 Liberty League) on Sunday afternoon in a game that finished 25 hours after it began due to the game being suspended yesterday due to rain.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Erika Hillenbrand and Alyssa Wolejko hit back-to-back singles through the left side. Staats came up and crushed the game-winning home run to center field, putting Union one game ahead of RIT for third place in the Liberty League standings.
Before the rain yesterday, RIT won game one 3-1. In game two,
Union took a 1-0 lead in the third as Hillenbrand tripled to lead off the inning and came home on a two out single by Samantha Chevalier. With one out and Nadow on with a double in the fourth, the game was called.
Once action resumed in the fourth, Michelle Tabisz (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) walked and

RIT would get a run in the sixth, as Nadow reached base on an error and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Tabisz and a fly out to right field by Wolcott.
Brittney LaVoie (Plattsburgh, NY/Ticonderoga) singled into center field to score Nadow.
Staats picked up the win on the mound for Union, pitching a scoreless seventh inning in relief of Wolejko, who allowed just five hits and an unearned run, while striking out seven in six innings.
