ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's tennis team picked up their third win of the season, defeating Alfred University, 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at RIT Tennis Courts. The win improves the Tigers to 3-3 on the season and 3-1 in Empire 8 play.

In singles, all six RIT players won in straight sets. Tennyson Saucedo (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) was victorious in straight sets at first singles, 6-4, 6-3, while Will Abisalih (Merrimac, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) picked up at 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles. Neville Billimoria was a 7-5, 6-1 winner at third singles, while Larry Hall (Fairport, NY/Fairport) dominated at fourth singles with a 6-2. 6-2 win.

Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) picked up a straight sets win at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Amos Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) won at sixth singles by scores of 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles action, Saucedo and Abisalih were 8-2 winners at the first position, Billimoria and Hall were 8-1 winners in the second spot, while the team of Bogue and Baptiste were 8-2 winners in the third spot.

Hall moved to 8-0 in singles and doubles in the last 4 matches.

The Tigers are back in action on Thursday, April 14 against another Empire 8 foe, Nazareth. The match gets underway at 4 p.m. on the RIT Tennis Courts.
