ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-3) men's basketball team came back from nine points down with 4:45 to play in regulation to beat York College (1-8) 77-72 in overtime of their first round game of the 26th Annual Harold J. Brodie Memorial Tournament. The Tigers advance to the championship game where they will face Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday at 3 pm in Clark Gym.
The Tigers outscored the Cardinals 12-2 over the final 4:45, including a 9-0 run over the final 1:31 to tie the game at 64-64. 
Justin Heisig (Levittown, NY/Island Trees), who had a career high 29 points, scored six of RIT's nine points in the push to tie. Freshman 
Desmond Scott (Murphy, TX/Plano East) tied the score with a free throw with 31 seconds remaining. He finished with 10 points for the Tigers.
On York's next possession, Mark Evans turned the ball over giving RIT a chance to win it in regulation. Scott drove the lane, but missed the layup as time expired sending the game into overtime.
In the overtime, RIT oustscored the Cardinals 13-8 picking up the win and snapping a three-game losing streak. 
Eric Travis (Chicago,IL/Hinsdale South) stepped up big for the Tigers, scoring eight of his career-high 11 points in the overtime.
RIT shot 44.2 percent from the floor on 23-of-52 shooting. The Tigers were 6-of-13 from behind the arc and were 23-of-36 from the foul line.
Heisig had a career-high 29 points for the Tigers on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor. The senior forward was 8-of-11 from the foul line and had seven rebounds, three assissts and two steals.
Scott finished with 10 points, while Travis scored 11 off the bench for RIT. 
RJ Kalb (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) had seven points and seven rebounds.
Tony Vails led York with 18 points. Michael Trowers added 12 points and Shamir Wilkinson had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals who will face Utica College at 1 pm in the consolation game
