ALFRED, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (2-3, 1-0 Empire 8) opened up its Empire 8 schedule with an 8-1 win over Alfred on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers swept all six singles events and won two of three doubles matches.  Neville Bilimoria (Mumbai/Schiller International), Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta), Adam Wolf (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush), and Andrew Edbord all won their singles matches in straight sets.  Will Abisalih (Merrimac, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) and Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) needed three sets each to garner their wins.

The second doubles team of Tontarski and Larry Hall (Fairport, NY/Fairport) earned an 8-0 win, while the third doubles squad of Wolf and Joshua Goldstein (Miami, FL/Palmer Trinity) won by a score of 8-1.

RIT plays five straight days this week, starting with a road contest against St. John Fisher on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
