Tigers clinch 20th straight winning season

ONEONTA, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team clinched their 20th straight winning season on Friday night, with a 67-53 win at Hartwick College. The win improves the Tigers to 13-11 overall and 9-6 in the Empire 8.

RIT held a slim, 29-26 lead at the half, but came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Hawks 38-27.

Sophomore Brendan Harder (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) led all scorers with 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. He was 7-of-11 from the floor and added three assists and two blocks. Junior Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) added 13 points, dished out four assists and had three steals. Senior Scott Young (Almond, NY/Hornell) had eight points and five rebounds.

RIT shot 41.8 percent from the floor for the game on 23-of-55 shooting. The Tigers made 5-of-16 three pointers and were 16-of-24 from the foul line. RIT held a slight edge in rebounding 36-34 and turned the ball over just seven times.

RIT wraps up the regular season on Sunday, February 21 at Stevens. The Tigers need to win out to have a chance at a berth in the Empire 8 tournament.
