ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (1-3) men's basketball team shot poorly in the second half, en route to a 79-61 loss to SUNY Oswego (4-1) in non-conference action on Tuesday.
The Tigers shot 21.9% from the floor in the second half, scoring just 27 points after shooting 46% in the first half.
Oswego opened the second half on a 21-9 run and led by as many as 13 in the second half.
Brendan Harder (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) led RIT with 19 ponts and nine rebounds. He was 6-of-12 from the floor with one three pointer.
Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) scored 18 points, while
Marcus Lowe (Anchorage, AK/Service) added eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
Oswego shot 56.6% from the floor on the game, including 72% in the second half. Conor Monaghan led the Lakers with 19 points, including 11 in the second half.
The first half saw three ties and five lead changes. RIT led by as many as six points in the first half, closing out the half on a 13-7 run to take 34-33 lead into the break.
RIT shot 46.2% from the floor in the first half on 12-of-26 shooting. The Tigers made 5-of-9 three point attempts and were 5-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Terry led all scorers with 12 first-half points. He was 4-of-6 from the floor including two three pointers.
Harder scored 11 points and Lowe chipped in with five points and four assists off the bench for the Tigers.
RIT opens Empire 8 conference play on Friday, December 10 when they host Elmira College. Tip-off versus the Soaring Eagles is at 8 pm at Clark Gymnasium.
