ITHACA, NY - The RIT men's basketball team (17-8, 12-4 Empire 8) fell to No. 9 Ithaca (24-1, 15-1 Empire 8), 101-74 on Sunday afternoon in a battle of the top two teams in E8 play. The Tigers seeded second in the Empire 8 Tournament, will play Utica in a semifinal contest in Ithaca on Saturday.
Ithaca never trailed, leading by as many as 25 in the first half and 29 in the second half.
Sean Burton led the Bombers with 32 points, 10 assists and six steals. He shot 12-for-18 from the field and drained six 3-pointers. Jordan Marcus added 21 points, while Scott Ruffrage scored 15 points and added 12 boards.

Nate Korinchak (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville)# (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) was 7-of-9 from the field en route to 15 points.
#Scott Young (Almond, NY/Hornell)# (Almond, NY/Hornell) had 14 points, while
#Marcus Lowe (Anchorage, AK/Service)# (Anchorage, AK/Service) added 13 points.
Ithaca shot 54 percent from the field in the first half and 48 percent for the game. RIT shot 45 percent from the field overall. Ithaca out-rebounded RIT, 47-32.
The 101 points scored by Ithaca were the most allowed by RIT this season. The Tigers have now lost three straight and four of five in conference play after starting 11-0.
RIT handed Ithaca its only loss of the season, 87-84 on Jan. 11.
