PITTSFORD, NY --
The RIT men's basketball team dropped its first Empire 8 conference game of the season, losing to St. John Fisher College 72-51 on Tuesday evening in Pittsford, New York. The loss ends an 11-game winning streak in conference play for the Tigers who drop to 16-5 overall and 11-1 in the Empire 8.

The 45 points scored by RIT was the fewest points the Tigers had scored all season long.

The Tigers shot 25.8% from the floor on 8-of-31 shooting in the first half, trailing 33-32 at the break. Mark Carson (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) (Voorheesville, NY) led RIT with seven points and nine rebounds.

The shooting woes continued in the second half. The Tigers went on an extensive scoring drought in the second half, going scoreless for nearly 10 minutes. That allowed the Cardinals to extend their lead to as many as 21 points.

The Tigers finsihed shooting 26.3% from the floor. RIT made just 15-of-57 field goals and 5-for-18 from three point land.

Mark Carson (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) was the Tigers lone double-digit scorer. He finished with 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. It was his 18th double-double of the season.

RIT will look to get back to their winning ways on Friday, February 13 when they host Empire foe Stevens Tech. Tip-off is at 8 pm.
