ROCHESTER, NY --
Obi Ukachukwu (Freeport, NY/Freeport) (Freeport, NY) converted a layup as time expired to give the RIT men's basketball team a 67-65 win over the University of Western Ontario in exhibition action on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs turned the ball over with seven seconds remaining. Nate Korinchak (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) (Strongville, OH) found Ukachukuwu who was racing down court. He laid the ball in as the buzzer sounded giving the Tigers a narrow win. Ukachukwu finished with eight points.

Mark Carson (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) (Voorheesville, NY) paced the Tigers, who shot 48.2% from the floor, with 30 points. He was 13-of-20 from the floor and had seven rebounds.

Scott Young (Almond, NY/Hornell) (Almond, NY/Hornell) scored seven of his 12 points in the second half, including foour three-pointers. He also chipped in five assists.

Shawn Roe (Corning, NY/Corning East) (Corning, NY/Corning East) had a team-high seven assists and five points.

Bradley Smith led the Mustangs with 27 points. He was 11-of-15 from the floor and scored 23 of his 27 points in the second half.

RIT returns to Empire 8 action on Friday, January 2 when they host Utica College at 8 pm in Clark Gymnasium.
