ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's tennis team will compete in the Liberty League Tournament for the second straight season. The No. 4 Tigers will face No. 5 Union on Friday (May 1) at 8:30 a.m. at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell.
RIT finished 4-4 in conference play to earn the No. 4 seed. RIT enters this weekend's championship ranked No. 69 in the country.

Yu Tanimoto and
Alexander Sinclair picked up a 6-2 at first doubles and senior
Gabriel Escobar and junior
Alec Turcotte clinched the doubles point with a win at second doubles. Tanimoto, Turcotte, Sinclair and first year
Greg Sauer won their singles matches.
SINGLES:
- Tanimoto is 18-4 in singles competition. He finished with a 15-2 record playing at No. 1 singles and was 6-1 in conference play. He currently is ranked first in the NCAA Region 2 rankings.
- Escobar enters the Liberty League Championship with a 12-5 record and was 4-2 in league play.
- Turcotte enters the tournament with an 9-9 record, including a 3-3 record in the Liberty League.
DOUBLES:
- Tanimoto and Sinclair have combined for a 17-5 record in doubles, including a 7-2 record in conference action. They are the top doubles team in Region 2.
- Escobar and junior Luke Weber are 9-4 this season.
The winner will face No. 1 Vassar in the semifinals on Saturday (May 2) at 8:30 a.m. RIT lost 6-1 to Vassar on April 18.
