ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors announced by the conference, Monday (April 13).
Senior
Trent Rapp was named Baseball Performer of the Week and graduate student
Dylan Joseph earned Pitcher of the Week honors. Junior
Jack DeFeo was named the Track Performer of the Week.
Rapp played a key role in RIT's three-game sweep against Bard. In Saturday's opener, Rapp went 4-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs, and two runs scored, driving in runs in multiple innings. In the second game of the doubleheader, he went 2-for-5 including a home run, two RBIs, and one run scored. Rapp closed the weekend by reaching base four times with a hit, two walks, and a hit by pitch, scoring three runs and adding a stolen base in Sunday's series finale. Rapp totaled six hits, three home runs, six runs scored, and six RBI, while recording clean defensive play at first base, including helping turn an inning-ending double play in the three-game series.
Joseph earned the win in an 11-2 victory over Bard on Saturday. He worked 5.0 innings, struck out seven batters while holding the Raptors hitless and no walks.
DeFeo posted a 400m time of 48.27 seconds to finish fourth overall out of 70 participants at Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic. The time is the 35th fastest in Division III this season 10th best in the AARTFC. The junior also ran a leg in the 4x400 relay that placed third with a combined time of 3:14.97, which ranks seventh in Division III and second in the AARTFC.
