Men's Cross Country Finishes Ninth at Harry F. Anderson Invite

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT junior Evan Owens placed 28th out of 334 runners to lead the men's cross country team to a ninth place finish out of 25 teams at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Owens completed the 8k course with a time of 25:42.9 to lead the Tigers.
  • Sophomore Jackson Burger placed 71st (26:46.6) as fellow sophomore Zachary Sowers was 98th (27:11.4).
  • Rounding out the top five for RIT was Michael Paoletti (27:18.9) and Steven McChesney (27:21.8).
  • Cornell won the team title with 17 points followed by Geneseo (66), Roberts Wesleyan (122), Indiana (Pa.) (131), and Brockport (136) in the top-five. RIT finished with 280 points.

RIT will run in the Kara Hall Memorial Invitational at Fredonia next Saturday (Oct. 5) at noon.
