Men's Cross Country Takes Fourth at Kara Hall Memorial Invite

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT junior Derick Koen placed fourth out of 184 runners with an 8k time of 25:40.6 to lead the Tigers to a fourth-place team finish at Fredonia's Kara Hall Memorial Invitational, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Koen was just 28 seconds behind Geneseo's Ryan Hagen, who took first place with time of 25:12.4.
  • Junior Evan Owens placed ninth with a time of 26:08.0 to earn his second top 10-finish this season.
  • Senior Jeffrey Gibbs and sophomore Jackson Burger were 21st and 22nd respectively. Gibbs' time was 26:50.2 as Burger recorded a time of 26:55.0. Sophomore Steven McChesney rounded out the time five for RIT, placing 29th at 27:13.0.
  • Geneseo had 45 points to take first place, followed by Ithaca (76) and Rochester (80). The Tigers recorded 85 points with Nazareth taking fifth with 131 points.

RIT heads to Houghton next Saturday (Oct. 12) to compete in the Highlander Invitational.
