ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Eight members of the RIT women's rowing team were named to the 2023 Women's National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) All-Academic Team, announced Wednesday.
 
Seniors Velvet Howland and Cailey Shaughnessy, juniors Evelyn Andersen, Michelle Carney, Izzy Moyer and Natalie Siwek along with sophomores Olivia Henry and Mikaela Simpkinson were among the 359 student-athletes honored.
 
For a student-athlete to be recognized to the NIRC All-Academic Team they must have completed one full year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.35, and be recognized as a varsity letter winner.
