Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT freshman
Christian Berko took the lone victory for RIT in an 8-1 loss to St. Lawrence in Liberty League action, Friday.
Berko won a pair of 6-4 sets in first singles, while three other RIT singles players lost in three sets after dropping the first set, rallying in the second and falling in the third.
Freshmen
Grahith Movva fell 7-5 in his first set, won the second 6-3, before falling 10-7 at second singles. Senior
Jake Wolicki fell 6-4 in the opening set, reversed that score with a 6-4 win in the second, and fell 6-2 in the third at third singles. Senior
Carter Casimir fell 6-3 in the first set, took the second set 7-6 (7-5), and fell 10-8 in the third at sixth singles.
In other singles action, freshman
Joel Pho had a pair of 6-4 setbacks at fourth singles, while freshman
Max Chang fell at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2.
RIT's top doubles pair of graduate student
Jacob Meyerson and Wolicki lost a close 8-6 match at first doubles. Pho and Casimir fell 8-2 at second doubles, and Movva and Berko lost 8-0 at third doubles.
Men's tennis next hosts Houghton in non-conference play on Tuesday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m. at the Gordon Field House.
