MENDON, NY -- Senior
Nick Lim's (Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) victory at fifth singles helped the RIT (5-4) men's tennis team clinch a 5-4 win over Daemen College Wednesday morning at the Mendon Racquet Club. Lim's 7-6, 6-1 win over Daemen's Ross Belen was the deciding point in the win.
Junior
Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA/Canton) was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Sam Greco at fourth singles, while senior
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) beat Marcos Lerma Escobar, 6-1, 6-0 at sixth singles. Lim held on for a 7-6 win in the opening set over Belen, and cruised to a 6-1 win in the second.
In doubles action, the team of Wolicki and Meyerson were 8-7 winners over Phillip Vance and Jose Williamson III at second doubles. First-year
Ethan Martin (Pearland, TX/Glenda Dawson) and Lim defeated Ross Belch and Lerma Escobar, 8-1 at third doubles.
RIT is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 24, at 12 p.m. against St. Lawrence University.
