Box Score 2 PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT (2-0) men's tennis team defeated Nazareth College 8-1 on Sunday morning, and defeated St. John Fisher College, 9-0 in the afternoon.
Versus Nazareth, freshman Verosh Jayanetti defeated Nathan Allen, 7-6, 6-0 at first singles.
Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Tommy Daviau at second singles.
Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA/Canton),
Nick Lim (West Caldwell, NJ/West Caldwell),
Carter Casimir (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area) and Daivd Trimmer were all straight-set winners in singles.
Lim and Wolicki won 8-0 at second doubles, while the team of Casimir and Trimmer were 8-1 winners at third doubles.
In the afternoon match at St. John Fisher, Jayanetti, Mathews, Wolicki, Lim, Casimir and Trimmer won in straight sets in singles competition. Casimir and Trimmer won their matches without dropping a game.
Jayanetti and Mathews were 8-3 winners at first doubles. Lim and Wolicki defeated Sean Danahy and Cameron Campbell, 8-1 at second doubles, while Casimir and Trimmer dominated at third doubles, winning 8-0.
