Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (5-6) beat Oneonta State (5-5) by a score of 6-3, winning four out of six singles matches from the Midtown Athletic Club on Saturday.
RIT took the first two doubles matches with the first team of
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) and
Brennan Bull (Birmingham, MI/Birmingham Seaholm) defeating Marco Ammirati and Nick Fox 8-7, while
Nick Lim (West Caldwell, NJ/West Caldwell) and
Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) beat Riley Smith and Ben Cohen 8-4. Oneonta State took the third match with a close score of 8-7 featuring Dalton Capoblanco and Matt Reinhold on top of
Carter Casimir (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area) and
Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA/Canton).
In singles play, RIT topped Oneonta State. The two teams split the first two matches before RIT took the next three matches, to seal the contest. Mathews beat Dalton Capoblanco 6-4, 6-3 while Wolicki beat Riley Smith by identical score to rally RIT to the lead.
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) sealed the deal for the Tigers by beating Alex Reiley 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
RIT is back in action on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. versus Ithaca College from the Gordon Field House.
