Men's swimming and diving wins sixth straight dual meet with victory over Hamilton

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (6-1) men's swimming and diving team won its sixth straight dual meet with a convincing 195-93 win over Hamitlon College (2-3) Saturday afternoon at Judson Pool. Prior to the meet, RIT honored seniors Tomer Artzi (Framingham, MA/Framingham), Scott Brink (Quincy, MA/Boston College), Ben Metzger (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), Tom Regan (Hollis, NH/Hollis Brookline), Dom Ricchio (Racine, WI/Case), Carl Schlehr (Maineville, OH/Kings), Chase Van Duyne (Auburn, NY/Auburn) and Joe Wang (Framingham, MA/Framingham) as they made their final appearance at Judson Pool.

The Tigers began the meet finishing first and third in the opening 400-yard medley relay. The team of Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods), Brendan Kapp (Springfield, VA/Trinity School), Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) and Will Brown (Boulder, CO/Fairview) won the event in a time of 3:40.11. The team of Tyler Schwarz (Stanley, NY/Marcus Whitman), Schlehr, Keanu Pagano (Oxnard, CA/Oxnard) and Marcoantonio Narvarte placed third in a time of 3:50.62.

Wang, Moss and Jimmy Antonelli finished 1-2-3 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Wang won the event in a time of 10:13.86, while Moss was second in a time of 10:32.00. Antonelli came home third in a time of 10:36.59.

Mark Truskinovsky (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) led a trio of Tigers to take home the top-three places in the 200-yard freestyle. Truskinovsky won the event in a time of 1:49.97, while Adam Reitz (Hilton, NY/Hilton) was second in a time of 1:51.14. Braden Feasley (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) was third, finishing in a time of 1:52.04. Truskinovsky (50.45) and Brown (50.47) finished one-two in the 100-yard freestyle.

Rothrock was a winner in the 100-yard backstroke (56.78), while Schlehr won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.97). Moss was a winner in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.83), while Brown led a pack of Tigers to finish in the top three in the 50-yard freestyle. Brown won the event in a time of 23.41, while Narvarte was second (23.53). Pagano placed third in a time of 28.83.

Wang, Moss and Antonelli finished in the top-three in the 500-yard freestyle. Wang won the event in a time of 4:58.23, while Moss was second (5:02.95). Antonelli was third, finishing in a time of 5:06.48.

In diving action, Jon Bauer (Fairview, PA/McDowell) won the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. He scored 219.05 points to win the 3-meter competition and tallied 207.55 points to win the 1-meter competition. Senior Van Duyne was second on both boards, while Abe Dulaney placed third on both boards.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, January 19 when the Tigers compete at University of Rochester at 1 p.m.
