2018-19: Transferred in to compete in sprint freestyle and butterfly events … finished eighth on the team accumulating 139 points … had a win, a second and four third place finishes … won his first race at RIT in the 100-yard freestyle (50.38) against St. Lawrence … placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly (52.84) at the Liberty League Championships … placed in the top 5 14 times … part of 200-yard medley relay team (1:33.05) that earned Second Team All-Liberty League accolades … part of 200-yard freestyle relay team that earned All-Liberty League Honorable Mention honors … part of record-setting 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:07.85) to earn All-Liberty League Honorable Mention accolades.

Before RIT: Swam the last two seasons at Monroe Community College … earned All-American Award honors … team MVP and SUNY Chancellors Scholar Athlete Award Recipient … MCC school record holder in the 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard butterfly … earned four varsity letters at Webster Thomas High School … team captain and MVP during senior year … also played varsity volleyball.

Personal: Mechanical engineering technology major … son of Tonya Colburn and David Metzger … father Dave was a member of RIT’s 1982-83 NCAA Division II Championship men’s hockey team.
