ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three members of the RIT swimming and diving team were named 2026 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Americans.
 
Juniors Gwen Petrie and McKenna Porter were first team selections and first year Griffin Messenlehner was a second-team pick.
 
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
 
Petrie placed 12th in the 1-meter finals and 16th in the 3-meter finals to earn Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Championships. The junior diver swept both diving competitions at the Liberty League Championships, posting a winning score of 465.00 in the 1-meter final and a score of 502.95 in the 3-meter finals to earn Liberty League Diver of the Year accolades.
 
Porter finished 27th in the 1-meter preliminaries and 26th in the 3-meter preliminaries at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships. The junior diver finished third in the 1-meter at the Liberty League Championship and fifth in the 3-meter.
 
Messenlehner won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 49.98 at the 2026 Liberty League Championships to earn a "B" standard time for the Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships. Messenlehner placed third in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard backstroke at Liberty Leagues.

The women's team recorded a 3.73 team GPA while the men posted a team GPA of 3.52 and were each named CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America teams.
