ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (4-6) rolled to a 9-0 shutout win over Oswego State University at the Midtown Athletic Club on Saturday afternoon.
RIT dominated throughout, dropping just four points in three doubles matches and 15 singles points. The second doubles team of
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and
Nick Lim (West Caldwell, NJ/West Caldwell), along with the third doubles pair of
Roger Peckham (Westlake, OH/Lake Ridge Academy) and
Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) won their matches by identical 8-0 scores.
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jon Matros at first singles, while Lynaugh earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Nick Retzkin at second singles.
Lim blanked Tyler Buxbaum at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0, while
Mac Yang Li (Montreal, Quebec/IMG Academy) cruised at third singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) and
David Trimmer (York, PA/Dallastown) preserved the shutout, with straight set wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
RIT returns to action on Monday with a home match against Alfred University from the Gordon Field House that gets underway at 3 p.m.
