ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (2-3) picked up its first win of the spring season, 7-2 over Nazareth College (0-3) at the Midtown Athletic Club Saturday afternoon.
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and
Nick Lim (West Caldwell, NJ/West Caldwell) earned wins at both singles and doubles for the Tigers. The duo teamed up to open the match with an 8-0 win over Tyler Luong and Nathaniel Clouston at third doubles. Lynaugh picked up a win at second singles when his opponent had to retire due to injury in the first set. Lim rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kellen Boyles at sixth singles.
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) and
Mac Yang Li (Montreal, Quebec/IMG Academy) rolled to an 8-4 win over Ryley Amond and Jonathan Scudder at second doubles.
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Lamar Hurt at first singles, while
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) and
Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) rolled to decisive victories. Peters defeated Scudder, 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles, while Lowitt shutout Patrick Dowdle, 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles.
