Men's tennis drops 2018 spring opener to Liberty League foe Vassar

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team (1-3, 0-2 Liberty League) opened the 2018 spring season by falling to Liberty League rival Vassar College (4-1, 3-0 Liberty League), 8-1 at the Midtown Athletic Club on Sunday.
 
Vassar opened the competition by taking all three doubles matches. Both first and second doubles matches were hard fought battles, with the Brewers taking each by identical 8-6 scores.
 
RIT got on the board at first singles, as Chandler Libby rolled to a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win over Adam Krueger. Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Jeremy Auh waged a strong battle at third singles, with Auh winning the first set tie breaker en route to a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
 
RIT is right back in action on Saturday, with a home match at 2 p.m. against Nazareth College from the Midtown Athletic Club.
