Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (6-3-1, 1-2-1 Liberty League) women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw at St. Lawrence University (6-1-3, 1-1-2 Liberty League) in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon in the rain. RIT extends its unbeaten streak to three matches (2-0-1).
RIT controlled much of the play, outshooting the Saints 31-13, including eight shots on target. The Tigers took six corner kicks to one for the Saints.
Ingrida Ivaska (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) got the start in net for RIT, playing the first half.
Alyssa Salls (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) played the second half and overtime, making one save. Samantha Allen made eight saves in net for St. Lawrence.
RIT generated a good scoring chance early in the first half.
Jessica Jones (Holden, MA/Wachusett) intercepted a Saints pass in midfield. The ball eventually found
Mia White (Littleton, CO/Rocky Mountain Deaf School) who slid a pass to
Danielle Losquadro (Merrick, NY/Sanford H. Calhoun) who fired a shot just over the cross-bar.
Lauren Chester (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) had a chance in the 34th minute on her shot from 25 yards out that just missed the far corner.
Rachel Strader (Seneca, SC/Seneca) laced a shot that Allen saved with less than five minutes to play in the first half. The Tigers generated four decent chances in the first half.
RIT fired 17 shots in the second half and overtime periods, but could not break through for a goal.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Oct. 12 when the Tigers face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 4 p.m. in Troy, N.Y.
