Women's Soccer plays to scoreless draw against Union

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw at home against Union, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior Amerie Mills nearly put RIT on the board in the 34th minute with a shot from the right side, but Union goalkeeper Maya Koster made a fingertip save to send the ball to the outside of the left post.
  • First-year Piper McSkimin followed with a shot on target less than a minute later that was turned aside by Koster.
  • Sophomore Sarah Tawaf tested Koster in the 54th minute as RIT opened the second half with attacking pressure.
  • Three minutes later, sophomore defender A.J. Engelken put a shot on goal in the 57th minute.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT goalkeeper Ashton Anderson now has four shutouts this season.
  • As a team, the Tigers outshot Union, 8-to-6, including a 6-to-1 advantage in shots on goal.
  • The Tigers also held a 7-to-3 edge in corner kicks.
  • Union was limited to one shot on goal and was held without a shot on target in the second half
  • The tie moves RIT's record to 4-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in Liberty League play.
