FREDONIA, NY -- The RIT (3-1) men's swimming and diving team defeated SUNY Fredonia (0-3) 181.5-113.5 Saturday afternoon. The Tigers have now won three straight dual meets.
RIT swept the top two places in the opening 200-yard medley relay, earning a quick 15 points. The team of
Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods),
Shawn Nevers (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial),
Ben Metzger (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas)Â and
Andres Orbe (North Bergen, NJ/Saint Peter's)Â won the event in a time of 1:39.64. The team of
Tyler Schwarz (Stanley, NY/Marcus Whitman),
Carl Schlehr (Maineville, OH/Kings),
Keanu Pagano (Oxnard, CA/Oxnard) and
Braden Feasley (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) were second in a time of 1:43.24.
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) was one three Tigers to win multiple individual events. He won the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.89) and was a winner in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:06.70.
Wil Seifried (Springfield, PA/Springfield) was a winner in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.94) and the 100-yard butterfly (54.49), and Orbe was a winner in the 50-yard freestyle (22.54) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.33).Â
Other winners included Jimmy Antonelli in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:39.46), Rothrock in the 100-yard backstroke (57.04), and Feasley was a winner in the 100-yard freestyle (50.39).
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 3 when the Tigers host St. Lawrence University at 1 p.m. at Judson Pool.
