CLINTON, NY -- The RIT (5-4) men's swimming and diving team won its final dual meet of the 2017-18 regular season season with a 191-107 victory at Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon. The meet was originally scheduled for Jan. 13, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
RIT swept both relays on Sunday with the team of
Nicholas Genovese (Lincoln, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury),
John Stelmack (Toccoa, GA/Stephens County),
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) and
Ryan Facchine (Fairview, PA/Fairview) winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:40.0. Genovese,
Tyler Allen (Newark, NY/Newark),
Jason Cook (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) and Facchine won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:29.03.
Moss was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.56) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.48). Stelmack took home wins in a pair of breaststroke events. He won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:02.06, and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:18.27.
Other winners included
Joe Wang (Framingham, MA/Framingham) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:23.74), Zack Ward in the 50-yard freestyle (22.67) and Facchine in the 100-yard freestyle (50.19).
Ben Hamilton (Addison, NY/Addison) was the winner in the 3-meter diving competition (249.30) and
Alex Dieroff (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) won the 1-meter event (243.20).
RIT is off until Wednesday, Feb. 21 when the Tigers begin competition at the 2018 Liberty League Championship hosted by Ithaca College.
