Men's tennis suffers first loss of season at Daemen

AMHERST, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (1-1) dropped its first dual match of the season on Wednesday, falling to Division II Daemen College (1-0), 8-1 at the Ellicott Tennis Courts.

Daemen opened the match by winning all three doubles matches. At first singles, Chandler Libby (Granby, CT/Granby Memorial), the reigning RIT Male Athlete of the Week, secured the Tigers lone point, earning a 6-1, 6-2 win over Tim Georg. Both Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) and MIchael Peters put up strong fights at second and fourth singles, respectively in defeat. Ingoglia fell to Mark Veitengruber, 7-5, 6-4, while Peters dropped his match to Justin Milner, 7-6, 6-4.

RIT is right back in action on Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the ITA Northeast Regional hosted by Skidmore College.
