MENDON, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (1-0) opened its 2017-18 dual match schedule by rolling to an 8-1 win over St. John Fisher (0-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.

RIT took all three doubles matches.
Chandler Libby (Granby, CT/Granby Memorial) and
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) took the second doubles match with an 8-2 win over Dustin McCullough and Jon Harper.
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and
Jared Ingoglia (Essex Fells, NJ/West Essex Regional) beat out Kevin Kulawiec and John Miller at first doubles, 8-3.
Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) and
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win at third doubles.

In singles, Peters swept Jarrett Pelton 6-4, 6-2 at the number five spot. Finishing right behind in the sixth spot was
Mac Yang Li (Montreal, Quebec/IMG Academy), who defeated Vincent Grasso 6-2, 6-2.

The match clinching victory came from Lynaugh at the third spot beating Jonathan Haper 6-1, 6-2. Libby beat Kulawiec 6-4, 6-2 at first singles and Ingoglia defeated Miller 6-4, 6-3 at second singles.

The Tigers are back in action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Daemen College.
